Thaickal beach is one of the tourist attraction in alappuzha district, the place is rich with availability of greatest number of beaches at the shore of arabian sea in western coast of kerala state. alappuzha is the smallest district and it carries the taluk have the longest beach in kerala. the shore of arabian sea at Thaickal with its silvery sands is one of the great beach beauty all over kerala and also in the district. the beach offers many tourism activities like sun bathing, long walk, sight of sunrise and sunset. the place is one of the spot for fishing, many fisher men depends the sea for their lives.
this is a main fishing hamlet in alapuuzha. the wooden fishing boats are focuses at the spot which shows the culture of a place. Thaickal beach is an unpolluted beach and offers best view of the waves, what an interesting thing, the repetitive movement of this waves which embarrassing the shore again and again.the place is ideal for a long walk without any interruption. Thaickal beach is close to cherthala. it is not a biggest one compared to the other beaches in kerala. there is 100 years old ship is preserved by the archeological department 2 km away from the spot.
The beach and surrounding places is bounded with the coconut trees. there are many other beaches is located neighboring to the Thaickal beach which includes andhakaranazhi, arthunkal etc. the nearest towns are alappuzha and cherthala at distances 24 and 4 km respectively. both places connects to other cities by trains and buses, you can choose the options as your wish. there is about 55 km to travel the nearest airport located at nedumbassery. Thaickal have only less accommodation and food options. post monsoon season is the best time to visit.
