Mannanchira square is a small village in kozhikode district was early known as mannachira maidnam. the specialty of the park is the huge pond located along with the square. the pond was a massive one constructed by the kozhikode king bhanu varma for drinking, bathing and irrigation purposes, there was two forts along with the pond at east and west direction of the pond. by the formation of kerala, it was renovated by the municipality of kozhikode and preserved for only drinking purposes. now mannanchira is served as the tourist spots named mannanchira square. the ground belongs to the square was early known as mannanchira maidaan was the courtesy of some cultural and athletic events in kozhikode.
