Chembra peak is one of the tourist attraction in wayanad located along with western ghats, situated at the south most part of wayanad, it is ranked as the highest peak in wayanad. chembra peak is considered as a beautiful tourist spot which promoted by the wayand tourism promotion council of kerala, chembra peak is located 2100 meter from sea level. the trekking is the main tourist attraction of the spot. the heart shaped lake can be seen on the way to the hill top of chebra peak which is a heart shaped lake.people who visited chembra peak is well attracted by this special lake. they take bath in the lake. this fresh water will give a pleasant feel for you.
the water of this lake will not be dry in summer, all over the year it is rich with fresh water.There are many hills are the part of western ghats which situated together with chembra peak, they are nilgiri hills at tamilnadu, vellrimala in kozhikode. these three are situated along with wayand hill ranges. the trekking to the peak is initiated from mepadi, the trekking is arranged by district tourism promotion council, they also provide the trekking equipments. the trekking is takes place through the tea estates of the surrounding places. you can complete the trekking only after 5 hours from the starting point.
October to february is the best time to visit chembra peak. it will give good atmospheric conditions during this period. karipur international airport is the nearest airport from the destination, it is 92 km away. the nearest railway station is located at kozhikode at a distance of 79 km away from meppadi. kalpetta is the headquarters of wayanad, this is the most nearest town to connect the near cities of wayanad.
